Over the past couple of months, we’ve noticed that support looks different for different people.
While cooked meals have helped many, others have reached out needing basic pantry items and household essentials. In response, we’ve opened a small community pantry in Newport.
The pantry is simple. People can come by and take what they need, no questions asked. It’s there to make things a bit easier during a difficult time.
The space and supplies have come together through local generosity. Businesses and individuals have donated items, and volunteers have helped sort and restock everything.
We’ve shared a few updates on Instagram so people know the pantry is there. It’s early days, but already it’s clear how important access to basic supplies can be.
Sometimes support is a hot meal. Sometimes it’s knowing there’s food in the cupboard.
